Seats for Soldiers
This week’s home game vs. the Langley Thunder will also mark
our annual Seats for Soldiers night
when we pay tribute to the hard working men and women of the Canadian Forces.
Beyond all of the regular game day festivities, we will have cadet and military displays, the Royal Westminster Regimental Band and much more. Partial proceeds from the event will be donated to the Westies 150 Fund and all Canadian Forces, Legion Members, Veterans, Cadets and their families get in for free.
Come out to Queen’s Park Arena and wear red to show your support for our troops! Game time is 7:45pm on Thursday, June 7th and tickets are available at the door!
A visit from Wally

If you couldn’t make it out to the game on Thursday night, then you missed a very special guest appearance! Wally Buono is currently the general manger of the Grey Cup champion BC Lions, but is better known for his success as a coach. He holds records for most regular season wins by a head coach at 254, most first place finishes as a head coach at 13 and most Grey Cup wins as a head coach at five.
Wally stopped in at Queen’s Park to spend some time with the Salmonbellie coaching staff, talk with the players and drop the ball in the game’s ceremonial face-off.
It was an honour to have such an accomplished sports figure at Queen’s Park Arena. The Bellies thank Wally for attending the game and wish him luck with his 2012 BC Lions’ campaign for a repeat championship.
