| New Westminster Sr Salmonbellies are ½ way there up 2-0 in the WLA Finals with cross-town rival Coquitlam Adanacs after beating them in the Palace on Poirier St 8-6. Lead by the Former Valedictorian of West Whalley Jr High School Cliff Smith’s 4goal performance and gutsy 2 goals by Ilija Gajic, the Bellies won a hard fought road win in front of 850 fans, many who travelled the short distance up North Road to see their Bellies take the win. Matt Roik the Bellies veteran Goaltender played spectacular stopping 29 of 35 shots thrown his way, one of gorganuous proportion off of Jason Wulder close in late in the 3rd. The Bellies return to Queens Park Arena for Game 3 Saturday August 23rd , Game time 7:45pm.
