 Bellies 13-1    

New Westminster Sr Salmonbellies moved closer to clinching 1st place overall with a resounding 15-4 drubbing of the visiting Nanaimo Timbermen.  The Hub City squad jumped on a 2-0 lead to open the game in the first Minute and 30 seconds after that it was all Bellies outscoring the visitors 15-2 from their on. Making his Salmonbellies debut veteran Matt Roik stopped  37 of 41 shots thrown his way, some of the spectacular fashion.  Leading the Bellies onslaught was Ilija Gajic with 6 points (2g,4a)  fellow Whalley residents Cliff Smith and Jordan Hall chipped in with 4 point nights each having (2g,2a), while New West native Jortdan Mc Bride kept pace with an identical 4 points on (2g,2a) . Cliff Smith rearranged Nanaimo’s tough guy Kyle McInnis’s nasal passages with a flurry of right /left combinations late in the third period.
