On a night the Salmonbellies honored one of their all time greatest Geordie Dean, the Salmonbellies did not let the 2000 boisterous Bellies supporters down beating cross-town rivals 12-7 in WLA action Thursday night. This pushed the Bellies overall season totals to 15-1-1, which is close to being one of the clubs best league records of all time. In what some of the pundits say might be a preview of the WLA final the Hometown Bellies were once again lead by the WLA top scorer Athan Iannucci with (3G, 2A) rookie phenom Ilija Gajic continued his torrid pace of late with a (2G, 4A) evening while veteran tender Matt Disher stretched his win loss record to 11-1 and league leading GAA to a sparkling 8.70 stopping 30 of 37 shots.

Coquitlam came out and tried to intimidate the younger Salmonbellies in the first period, unfortunately this only seemed to wake the young crew up , who seemed to take charge in the second period and moved it into overdrive in the 3rd.

Bellies close out one of the their season on the road Sunday July 29th  in MAPLE Ridge game time 6:45 pm , before opening up the 1st round of playoffs on Friday August 3rd at 7:00pm vs the 4th place Nanaimo Timbermen.
