 Bellies – Thunder Match up Ends Tied at 10

Jordan McBride moved into 4th place on the WLA scoring leader board when the Bellies tied the Langley Thunder at ten after 70 minutes of play at Queens Park Arena on Thursday night. McBride had two goals and one assist on the night, bringing his season total to 23 points in seven games.

Ian Hawksbee also had two goals, earning his title as the WLA’s first star of the game. Kyle Ross, Bubba Westwood, Jamie Floris, Sean Robinson and Jordan Hall, in his home debut, each scored once for the Bellies during regulation time. Junior call-up Curtis Dickson had four assists on the night.

Once the game went to overtime, Langley scored first at 4:26, but rookie Martin Cummings quickly responded, netting the only Bellies goal of the period just over a minute later.

The Bellies took 51 shots throughout the game. Bellies goalie Matt Roik faced 44 shots while 2008 WLA Rookie of the Year Tyler Richards saved all 4 of the attempts made on him in net.

New West’s Bubba Westwood was named the WLA’s Third Star of the game.

The Bellies next match up is at Coquitlam on Saturday, June 13, 7:45pm start.
