Bellies Solidify Grip on 1st Place With Road Win

Lead by a 7 point performance from Craig Conn(2G 5A) and Sophomore Star Jordan Hall's ( 3G 2A) the Salmonbellies improved their record to a league leading 9-1, with a gritty hard fought road win 13-12 over the defending WLA Champion Victoria Shamrocks, on the island last night. The Bellies lead 3-2 after one and jumped ahead 10-5 after two with a great second period, using stellar penalty killing and non stop fast breaking to pull away from the men in Green, The third period saw the Rocks claw back into the game and eventually tie it at 12 with less than 3 minutes to play. That set the stage for a bizarre ending where Victoria's Bench Boss Walt Christianson , pulled his goalie in a tie game with less than 45 seconds on the clock. The Berlin Wall defense of the Salmonbellies stood tall, and stripped the ball which was scooped up  by Jordan Hall who buried the ball from centre into a gaping empty net for the win.
