| Bellies Win in Maple Ridge |
By Carly Rigby Jordan McBride was named one of the game’s three stars for the second time in as many games on Sunday night when the Bellies visited the Burrards in Maple Ridge. McBride put up a hat trick to help New West end the game with an 8-7 victory. This was the team’s second win of the season, in spite of the fact that there are still eight key veterans missing from the roster. Jamie Floris and Kyle Ross each scored a pair of goals, while Tyler Crompton added one of his own. The team had 36 shots on the night, while 2008 WLA Rookie of the Year, goaltender Tyler Richards, made 32 saves in his regular season debut with the Bellies. McBride took the title of first star, Floris was named the game’s second star and Randy Daly of Maple Ridge was third. The Bellies return home to host the Victoria Shamrocks this Thursday, May 28 at 7:45 pm in Queens Park Arena.
