by Carly Rigby Sean Robinson led the Bellies with four goals and one assist to beat the Timbermen in Nanaimo on Saturday night. In just one game, the rookie doubled his points on his three game season and found himself named, for the first time ever, the WLA’s first star of the game. Pete McFetridge and Darren McEwen each scored their first goals of the year, as did returning veteran Jordan Hall, who had two goals in his first appearance of the season. Also scoring for New West were Jordan McBride, Bubba Westwood, Tyler Crompton and rookie Martin Cummings, each with a goal a piece. Tyler Richards was in goal and recorded a win for the second time this season, facing 38 shots throughout the 60 minutes and earning the WLA’s second star of the game. The Bellies now return home to face the Burnaby Lakers on Thursday, June 4 at 7:45 pm in Queens Park Arena.
