Open letter to Salmonbellie fans and supporters
Dear Salmonbellies fans & supporters
On behalf of the board of directors for the New Westminster Salmonbellies Lacrosse Club, I would like to thank you for your unwavering support and loyalty. Like every fan of the New Westminster Salmonbellies, we are extremely disappointed with the results of this past season.
The New Westminster Salmonbellies are a community based team with the greatest lacrosse fans in the world. We, as an organization, have fallen short of everyone’s expectations, including our own, and for that we are sorry. We take full responsibility for how our team performs on the floor and we make no excuses. The way this season unfolded and came to a crashing halt was unacceptable. Our city, our fans, our season ticket holders and our sponsors deserve more. In sports, results are the only thing that matter and we clearly did not measure up.
Our board of directors believes in our team, our fans, our sponsors and their unwavering support of the Bellies. Our entire organization will be examined internally from top to bottom in the coming weeks as we focus on making necessary changes to get our team back to the playoffs and the Mann Cup. Beyond winning, commitment, accountability and responsibility have always been the forces driving our organization.
The New Westminster Salmonbellies are extremely privileged to have such a strong, loyal following across Canada and around the world. You are passionate, knowledgeable lacrosse fans and we will never take you for granted.
We will now take some time to reflect, then roll up our sleeves and deliver a 2013 Salmonbellie product that, both on and off the floor, will make you all proud.
Sincerely,
Dan Richardson
Salmonbellies President and General Manager
