Guess who's back? Zach Higgins returns to Bellies!

by Paul Horn

While the 2022 season was a disappointment for the Bellies and their fans, there were flashes of brilliance.  And number one amongst those silver linings was goaltender Zach Higgins.  Today, the team announced that Higgins will return for the remainder of the 2023 and playoffs.

Higgins - who plays for the NLL Philadelphia Wings in the winter - wasn't expected to be available this season due to family commitments, but things have changed and Higgins will be available for the last 10 regular season games as well as play-offs.

Higgins was a 2nd team WLA All-Star last season, earning an 82.5% save average over 15 games.

GM Ray Porcellato described Higgins this way, "Zach was a difference maker for us last year, and will be even more important this year as we make a run for the Mann Cup. He is an elite goaltender and a key ingredient for our team on and off the floor."

He'll join Neil Tyacke in a powerful goalie tandem.  Tyacke is currently having a standout season, with a 5-0 record and and an 83.7% save average.

Catch Zach and the rest of the Bellies at Queens Park.  Our next two home games are against the Langley Thunder, June 29 and July 6th.
