Make no mistake about it, this Thursday night's game against the Adanacs is - for all intents and purposes - a playoff contest.

The Bellies have 3 games left in the regular season, and will play at home twice.  The last of those games is against the currently unbeaten Victoria Shamrocks (Aug. 1).  In between, our boys will be on the road against a very hungry Maple Ridge Burrards squad on July 29th.

Those Burrards are now tied with the Bellies at 14 points, but they sit 3rd in the standings, due to a 2-0 edge on the Bellies in their season series.  Like New West, they have just 3 games remaining, so that upcoming 4-pointer might end up being the most important game of the season for both squads.

The Adanacs have just two games remaining, including their regular season final against the Burnaby Lakers on Saturday night at Poirier.  Burnaby sits currently in 6th place in the WLA with 11 points, and their playoff ambitions have been severely impacted by their loss to Maple Ridge on Tuesday night.

The Bellies can finish as high as second, but they'll need to keep up their current winning streak, and hope that Langley falls at least once in their last three matches.  The Thunder have the unenviable task of playing Victoria 2 more times, so anything is possible.

For the Adanacs, a total of 17 points is the best they can do for the 2024 season, if they squeeze out wins in their last two.  There's a chance that 17 points won't be enough to qualify for August play, but Coquitlam fans know their team is going to do all it can to be there, after some disappointment in recent years.

It's never been harder to predict the final WLA standings. With so much movement still possible between 2nd and 6th, just one thing is certain; WLA fans are going to witness some hungry and intense lacrosse in these last two weeks.
